“This scholarship was my ticket to the life that I have always wanted for myself. I come from a single-parent household, as a first-generation college student. There are generational curses in my family that I am dedicated to breaking, and graduating from a university is just the first step. Through this scholarship, I am able to pursue my dreams at full force without having to be a burden on my mother. I am eternally grateful for such an opportunity.”
